DUL-a-han
A headless rider who carries his own head and is said to herald death.
The Dullahan rides a black horse (or drives a black coach, the Cóiste Bodhar) at night, carrying his own severed head, which he can raise aloft to see great distances. Wherever he stops, someone is said to die. He is generally treated as a folkloric cousin of the banshee — another death-omen figure — rather than a character from the medieval cycles.
